Nurturing Students Through Service Learning

At MIS Hinjawadi, our core philosophy revolves around the holistic development of our students. One of the most impactful ways we accomplish this is through service learning, a pedagogical approach that blends meaningful community service with instruction and reflection.
What is Service Learning?
Service learning is more than just volunteering. It is a carefully designed experience where students apply academic skills and knowledge to real-life needs in their communities. This empowers them to grow as responsible, empathetic citizens and develop a sense of purpose.
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."
How We Implement Service Learning at MIS Hinjawadi: organising community outreach programmes for students of all ages; collaborating with local NGOs and institutions for hands-on projects; encouraging students to reflect and share their experiences; and integrating service activities with our academic curriculum.
Core Values We Foster: empathy, understanding and sharing the feelings of others; responsibility, taking ownership of one's actions and contributions; respect, valuing diversity and perspectives; teamwork, collaborating to achieve shared goals; and reflection, learning from experience and recognising personal growth.
Impactful Projects: our students have made a tangible difference through plantation drives and environmental awareness campaigns, support for underprivileged children through donations and educational activities, and cleanliness drives in local neighbourhoods.
Service learning is a vital part of the MIS Hinjawadi experience. It prepares our students to lead with compassion, awareness and a commitment to creating a positive impact.
